WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

The entire dental team (dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, dental residents/students, management, front desk staff) and any medical providers interested in oral health.

WHY ATTEND:

The impacts of COVID-19 will be studied for years to come, but one definite impact of the pandemic has been the need to expand care outside the usual dental office setting. Teledentistry is not a creation of the pandemic, but its use has grown exponentially because of it. By increasing the use of teledentistry in the state, Rhode Island can increase oral health access and utilization. This mini-residency is an opportunity to learn more about the options that teledentistry provides and consider how a practice may incorporate this work.

YOU’LL HAVE THE CHANCE TO:

• Learn the history of telehealth and examples of implementation in other disciplines
• Get tips on how to establish teledentistry in your own practice (including technology needed, workflow, legal/privacy considerations, etc.)
• Participate in demonstrations of the equipment and processes involved with teledentistry
