The Rhode Island Public Health Think Tank was formed in 2006 by the Rhode Island General Assembly in cooperation with RIPHA. Through its broad-based membership, RIPHA serves the Public Health Think Tank and the public by providing independent, scientific, evidence-based information on public health topics, such as those presented in our Public Health Briefs. In 2018, RIPHA convened three advocacy trainings/work shops to coordinate creation of data briefs, advocacy briefs, and consider how we each may want to best participate in hearings and other ways of reaching out to policy makers.
The Think Tank began by convening an annual Health Policy Legislative Forum to bring together RIPHA members, legislators, and public health advocates toexchange ideas about current public health topics. |
