RIPHA presents awards annually to professionals, advocates, students and others who work hard to support public health in Rhode Island. The following are the Awards Categories, though not every award is presented every year.

Bertram Yaffe Award
Presented to an individual with long standing service to the advancement of public health in Rhode Island.  Individuals who have distinguished themselves in the areas of advocacy, academia, volunteerism, public service organizations, philanthropy, foundations, or as a consumer.

John E. Fogarty Award
Presented to a public health professional who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of public health in Rhode Island at the federal, state or local level of government service.

Lifetime Achievement
Presented to an individual who has made significant contributions to advance the public’s health at a national, state, or local level

Meritorious / Program Award
Presented to a group that has made significant contributions to the advancement of public health in Rhode Island at the federal, state, or local level.

Owen Manahan Award
Presented to a health or public health student who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of public health in Rhode Island or to Rhode Island Public Health Association

Public Health Champion
Presented to one or more individuals who have championed public health through advocacy, education or service.
